McKenzie and Travis’ wedding at Loma Vista Gardens in Big Sur, CA, was a picturesque celebration that unfolded against the breathtaking backdrop of the California coast. The day began in Monterey, where the couple got ready, anticipating the momentous occasion that awaited them just an hour away.

Opting for the traditional approach, McKenzie and Travis chose not to have a first look, adding an element of suspense to their special day. To ensure the surprise remained intact, my second photographer and I drove McKenzie to the venue, ensuring Travis wouldn’t catch a glimpse of his bride before the ceremony.

Despite Big Sur’s reputation for mild weather, the couple found themselves basking in the warmth of one of the town’s hottest days. The weather only added to the uniqueness of their celebration, creating a memorable atmosphere for their intimate ceremony.

Following their heartfelt vows, we embarked on a scenic drive up the coast, capturing the couple’s love against the backdrop of a cliffside ocean view during golden hour. The sunset that graced the occasion was nothing short of breathtaking, painting the sky with hues of pink, orange, and purple, creating a truly magical setting for their bridal portraits.

As the celebration continued, the couple embraced the charm of Big Sur, navigating the challenge of the town’s noise ordinance by opting for a silent disco. It was my first time photographing a silent disco at a wedding, and it proved to be a brilliant way to keep the festivities alive while respecting the local regulations.
